Haverhill Heritage, Inc. (HHI) is dedicated to its mission to create vibrant community spaces that utilize and give new life to historic resources.

This mission led the organization to the Wentworth Brown Project - an endeavor that will save an important c.1790 historic estate and enrich the region culturally and economically.

From a farm to table cooperative to artist studios to a tech center to a co-working space - the ideas for the property are endless. To help facilitate a sustainable plan for the property, HHI applied for and was accepted into New Hampshire’s Community Development Finance Authority’s capacity building program. Funds from this agency will allow HHI and the community to engage in a comprehensive feasibility study. The consensus is the building should be used to bring vitality to the region by showcasing the region’s rich architectural, artistic, and agricultural resources. Thanks to grants from the NH Preservation Alliance and the National Trust, a historic structures report and reuse plan for the building was drafted, providing a guide to understanding the building's architecture and reuse capabilities. The next important step is undertaking the feasibility study, which will allow us to more fully examine and steer the organization towards viable and sustainable options for the property, along with helping to preserve important resources and create regional opportunities.
